Obituary Collection of Kathlyn J Folmar
FOLMAR, ELLA FLOYCE CARTER (3-23-1908 - 12-9-1980)
	Mrs. Floyce Carter Folmar, 72, a resident of the Rodgers Community near Goshen,
Ala., Pike Co., died early Tues. morning at Edge Memorial Hospital, Troy, Ala. 
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wed., Dec. 10, at Elam Primitive Baptist Church
north of Goshen, with Elder J. P. Morgan officiating.  Burial will be in the
Elam Cemetery with McGehee-Dillard Funeral Home directing.
	Mrs. Folmar is survived by her husband, Riley Marshall Folmar; three daughters,
Mrs. Betty Lou Adair, Mrs. James (Janice) Whitman, and Mrs. Byron D. (Gloria)
Wilkes of Goshen; a son, Dwight M. Folmar of Huntsville; two sisters, Mrs.
Oliver B. Gowder of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and Mrs. Charles M. King of Albany,
Ga.; three brothers, A. Curtis Carter of Deatsville, James Murray Carter of
Montgomery, and O. Reuben Carter of Little Rock, Ark.
	The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. 
The family requests memorial donations be sent to a favorite charity.
	Mrs. Folmar was a graduate of Troy Normal School and was a former teacher.  She
graduated from the Rodgers School and immediately passed the examination for her
teacher’s certificate.  Before her marriage, she taught at several schools: 
Kingsley between Goshen and Glenwood, Goshen Elementary, and Good Hope Elementary.
	She was a life-long resident of the Rodgers Community and was a descendant of
the founder of the community, Hugh Ross Rodgers.
