Her father, John Kyzer, moved from South Carolina to Barbour Co., Ala., when she was a child and, after remaining there a short time, removed to Pike where he remained two years and then moved away and remained until she was married on Nov. 6, 1839, to W. A. Gibson of this county [Pike]. She joined the Missionary Baptist Church in 1864 and proved to be a faithful member. She was the mother of 17 children, 2 sons and 15 daughters, with 11 now living. She has 30 grandchildren living and 9 dead. She was a true Christian and her loss is deeply deplored in her community and leaves a large bereaved family and many sympathizing friends to mourn her loss.
