Troy Messenger
W. H. Spivey, Sr. Passes After A Short Illness

W. H. Spivey, Sr. 76, died at a local hospital Sunday morning after a short 
illness.
Survived by widow, Mrs. Matilda Jeffcoat Spivey, of Troy, Route 1: four sons, 
Roy of Tuscaloosa; Carroll of Birmingham, Homer, of U. S. Army, Pacific 
Theater and James of Fitzgerald, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. Milton C. Carter and 
Mrs. John Henry Carter of Troy, Route 1; fourteen grandchildren and many other 
relatives.
Funeral services were held this morning at 11 o’clock from Goodhope Church 
with Rev. Luke Henderson of Crestview, Fla., officiating. Burial was in 
Wingard Cemetery.
