Good Woman Goes To Her Reward

Following an illness of about two weeks, Mrs. Kate McKerley died this morning 
at the residence of her son, Hamil McCurley, on East Madison Street at 8:20 
o’clock.

Mrs. McKerley had been growing worse for the past several days, and while her 
death was not expected, it came as a great shock to her family and friends. She 
was sixty-one years of age.

She was prior to her marriage to W. J. McKerley, Miss Kate Collins. As a result 
of their marriage three children survive though Mr. McKerley died some two 
years ago. The surviving sons are: Erastus McKerley of Bainbridge, Ga.; Hamil 
McKerley of Troy; and Charlie McKerley of Corinth, Miss.

The funeral will occur tomorrow a 8 o’clock at the family residence on Madison 
Street, being conducted by Elder B. J. Wilson. Burial will occur at the 
McKerley Cemetery, about two miles from Banks.
