Mr. Jim Bob Coskrey of Dothan died Tuesday Nov. 4, 2003 at his residence under
hospice care  after an extended illness. He was 91.
 
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, at Memphis Baptist Church with the Rev.
Ernest O'Neal and the Rev. Rick Glenn officiating. Burial will follow at the
church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at
the funeral home. Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be
made to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Ala  36302.
 
Mr. Coskrey was born Jan. 23, 1912, in Pike Co.,  Ala. to John D. and Pearl
Coskrey and lived the early years of his life there. In 1934 he moved to Dothan
and was engaged in farming for 20 years. He was later employed with King's
Manufacturing for 25 years prior to his retirement. Mr. Coskrey was a member of
Memphis Baptist Church where he served as deacon. At the time of his death he
was serving as an honorary deacon.
 
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary G. Coskrey; four sisters, and two brothers.
 
Survivors include two sons and daughters - in - law, John Coskrey, wife Carolyn,
Jerry Coskrey, wife Peggy, all of Dothan;  three daughters and sons - in - law,
Mary Brackin, husband Al of Lompoc, Calif. Martha Kingry, husband James, Dothan,
Lucy Bowers, husband Kenneth of Santa Maria, Calif; 15 grandchildren; 25 great
grandchildren; a special faitful church visitor, Emmitt Benton.
 
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Paul Kingry, Mark Coskrey, Brian Coskrey, D.J.
Coskrey, Rod Brackin, and a grandson - in - law, Rickey Stokes.
