B. Bundy, one of the oldest residents and representative citizens of Pike County died Thursday at 9:30 o'clock at his home at Center Ridge, after a long illness. His death was caused from complication of diseases and was not unexpected as he had been hovering upon the brink of death for a number of days. Mr. Bundy served three years in the Confederate Army, as a member of Co., K, 37th Alabama. He made a valiant soldier. He had resided in Pike County since 1852, with the exception of the period he spent in the war, and had resided at the place where he died, for forty nine years. At the time of his death he was seventy-three years of age. Mr. Bundy was an ideal citizen, conscientious in his affairs and dealings with men, and one who lived as near up the golden rule as possible. He perhaps had not an enemy to the world. Pike County suffers a distinct loss in his death. The funeral and burial occurred on Friday at noon, the interment taking place at the Center Ridge Cemetery, Rev. J. P. Morgan conducted the service.
