Funeral services will be held Mon., Nov. 27, at 2 p.m. at Goshen Baptist Church, with the reverends Merlin Morris and Marquis Wingard officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Goshen, with McGehee-Dillard of Troy, Ala., directing. The body will lie in state at the Sanders home after 5 p.m. Sunday and at the church for one hour prior to services on Monday. Mrs. Sanders’ survivors include her widower, Bill Sanders of Goshen; two daughters, Toni and Valerie Sanders of Goshen; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Pouncey of Goshen Route 1; two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Koerner, Wetempka, Ala., and Mrs. Norma Sizemore, Tallahassee, Fla.; one brother, Billy Pouncey, Bowden, Ga; and her grandmother, Mrs. D. E. Bozeman of Goshen Route 1. Memorials may be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s home or to Goshen Baptist Church. Additional Comments: Following is an abstract from a Photo Caption from “The Troy Messenger”: Nan Pouncey Sanders of Goshen was killed in a car-truck collision in front of her home at 7:50 a.m. Sat., Nov. 25, 1978. Three other persons were injured. Mrs. Sanders was as driver of a station wagon. The truck was driven by Ollie D. Davis, 48, of Glenwood, Alabama. Also in the truck were John Jackson, 18, and Lucille Carter, 50, both of Glenwood. All three from the truck were transported to Edge Memorial Hospital, Troy, Alabama. Trooper Bill Phelps investigated the accident, which occurred on County Road 5, the Goshen-Glenwood Road, and was assisted by Trooper W. M. Gay. The Carter woman was pinned in the wreckage for approximately 45 minutes, while Troy Fire Rescue workers attempted to free her.
