Obituary Collection of Kathlyn J Folmar
WILKES, VALLEY CARTER  (b. 1889 – d. 2-28-1912)

	Mrs. Valley Wilkes, the wife of Clint [Jessie Clinton] Wilkes, residing near
Good Hope [Cullman Co., Ala.] died this morning [Feb. 28, 1912] and will be
buried at Chapel Hill Cemetery [at Wingard in Pike County] at 11 o’clock
tomorrow morning.  The funeral will be conducted by Rev. J. W. Stewart.
	Mrs. Wilkes is survived by her husband and a little son about two years of age
[Ezra].  She was twenty-three years of age.
	Her death will be a source of regret to her many friends.





Additional Comments:
In 1910, Mr. & Mrs. Wilkes lived on Route 2 Goshen in the Goshen Hill Beat of
Pike Co., Ala.  Valley Wilkes was a daughter of Sam Carter.  Her husband’s
father was Judge S. Wilkes. ("Judge" was his name, not his position.)
