Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Vance Memorial Chapel, Phenix City, with burial in Lakeview Memory Gardens. Mr. Wilks was born Dec. 25, 1920, in Pike Co., Ala., the son of Thomas Frank Wilks and Thetie H. Wilks. Survivors include his widow, Melia B. Wilks; two sons, Marshell Wilks, Jr., of Smith, Ala., and Jerry F. Wilks of Victoria, Tex.; his mother, Thetie H. Wilks of Phenix City; five sisters, Margaret Boyd of Louisville, Ala., Mildred Johnson of Phenix City, Mable Carter of Brundidge, Ala., Ann Slaughter of Columbus, Ga., and Kathy Jacob, Douglasville, Ga.; four brothers, Melvin Wilks of Ft. Mitchell, Ala., Robert Wilks of Phenix City, Sam Wilks of Douglasville, and Virgil Wilks of Columbus; and five grandchildren.
