Obituary Collection of Kathlyn J Folmar
WILKS, VERNON  (d. 10-24-1989)

	Vernon (Shorty) Wilks, 78, of Goshen, Ala., Pike Co., died Tues., Oct. 24,
1989, at Edge Regional Medical Center in Troy, Alabama.  Funeral services will
be on Wed., Oct. 25, 1989, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in
Troy, with Rev. Larry Ellis and Dr. Theo Dalton officiating.  Burial will follow
in Hill Crest Cemetery in Goshen, with Dillard Funeral Home directing.  Active
pallbearers will be Foy D. Helms, Faron Evans, Lamar Grant, Paul Sanders, Jessie
James Revel, and James O. Johnson.
	The family requests the omission of flowers.
	Mr. Wilks’ survivors include his widow, Mrs. Julia Hughes Wilks of Goshen; five
sisters, Mrs. Eva Carroll of Chipley, Fla., Mrs. Ester Gibson of Troy, Mrs.
Callie Barnes of Phenix City, Ala., Mrs. Gerald Bundy of Troy, and Mrs. Foy
Bradley of Goshen; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Louie B. Hughes of Goshen; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
