He is the third child and the first male of John Jordan and Therath Catherine Liptrot. His first wife was Juliana Faulk Liptrot, widow of William A. Liptrot, brother of Catherine Liptrot Jordan. We know J. D. was married three times and another possible unconfirmed marriage. He had a total of 10 children. He is buried in the Pattison Cemetery, Emhouse, Navarro County, Texas.
