Name:               Alsey Flowers Whittington

Alsey Flowers was born about 1824 in North Carolina.  She was the daughter of 
Goldsbury Flowers and Edy Williamson.  Alsey married James Whittington around 
1840.  Alsey died after 09 Jun 1872 in Pike County, Alabama. Alsey may have 
died of some form of cancer, because her estate records show bills from a 
doctor for treatment which included morphine for pain. 

In a probate court record dated December 19, 1872, B. M. Wesley is named as 
the guardian of the minor heirs of Alsey Whittington.  

A petition was brought before the court by B. M. Wesley to sell the land left 
by James and Alsey Whittington.  It states that it would be in the interest of 
the heirs to sell the land and divide the proceeds between the children.  
Dated September  13, 1873.

There is no mention of son James.
