Therath Catharin Liptrot Jordan, born 05 Aug 1817, Burke County, Georgia, died 
23 Jul 1898, Josie Community, Pike County, Alabama and buried at Ramah 
Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. She is the daughter of John Liptrot (1798-
1875)and Elizabeth Adams.  Although her mother's last has not been completely 
proven. Catherine married John Jordan, May 1838, in Houston County, Georgia.  
The couple is listed in the 1840 and 1850 census for Houston County, Georgia.  
They moved to the Barbour County, Alabama area about 1854 and then into Pike 
County.  In the 1840 census, they couple had two females under 5, but these 
two are not listed again.  They had 8 known and verified children.  If you
