Bill Messick was born 13 Nov 1895 in Goshen, Pike County, Alabama; died 18 Oct 
1962 in Pike County, Alabama. Married to (1) Jessie Lois BROWN, (2) Lovie 
Rhodes COBB.  Bill's parents were James Clayton MESSICK and Martha Alice 
Matilda BUTTS.
Bill and Jessie had 6 children. 
Burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery.  Located north of  Troy-Luverne Highway, in 
Pike County, Alabama.
Served in WWI.  Ala Pvt 3223 Inf 81 Div WWI

C. W. Messick Dies At Home
William Messick (no age) of Troy, Route 4 collapsed and died in the yard at 
his home about 9:45 today according to witnesses. An ambulance was called and 
Messick was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Troy police officer 
James Hattaway.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon from McGehee Funeral Home 
Chapel at three o'clock with rev. O. G. Hall officiating. Burial will be in 
Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Louie Rhodes Messick, Troy: two daughters, 
Mrs. Grady B. McCall and Mrs. Joe M. McLeod both of Troy: four sons, Horace, 
Denton and Woodrow of Troy: Johnny R. Messick of Montgomery: four sisters, 
Mrs. Victor Hanson, Enterprise: Mrs. Clint Wilks, Troy: Mrs. Mary Spivey, 
Valdosta, Georgia: Mrs. Hollis Roberts, Montgomery: one brother, Malon Messick 
of Columbus: 18 grandchildren.
