S. C. MARCH 15, 1800 DIED OCT. 2, 1881 Additional Comments: On March 15, 1800, John Solomon Blair was born in Newberry District of South Carolina. It is not known at this time who his parents were. John moved from South Carolina and was first found in Henry Co., AL and later moved to Pike Co., AL where over the next several decades he built a large plantation. He married Cedena Stephens on February 14, 1828. Their first child William was born in 1829. Shortly after his birth, Cedena was attacked and killed by a black bear. John next married Kitsy Ann Stephens, the sister of Cedena. Many years later, John married another Stephens sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Swanner. Two of John's sons died in the Civil War, Leonard Blair on December 3, 1862 and Levi Blair on September 27, 1863. Note other sources has his middle initial as J.
