RUSHING OCT. 17, 1852 JAN. 28, 1918 Not my will, but thine be done Additional Comments: Henry married Margaret R. Baely (b. Feb 1850 in AL & d. ? in Pike Co., AL)17 Sep 1871 in Pike Co., AL. Pike Co., AL marriage records, BK 06, p. 597. It said she is buried in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The following article appeared in The Troy Messenger on Thursday, 18 December 1879: "And still they come!! Mr. H. O. Rushing who has been living in Texas for the last few years landed in his old home one day this week, and is perfectly satisfied never to try the Lone Star State again." 1880 Federal Census of Pike Co., AL records him living beside his brother J. E. H. Rushing and near his brother, Stephen Rushing. Researched by Ron Bridges on 7 Jun 1999. The following article appeared in The Troy Herald on Tuesday, 29 January 1918: "Another sad death, made more sadder to the immediate relatives by the death of his brother, Friday, was when the spirit of Henry Rushing left its earthly tenement Monday, seeking repose in that Heavenly Home where there is no more sorrow nor pain. Henry Rushing, one of the county's most estimable citizens resided 9 miles west of Troy in the Starkville community, and his presence will be greatly missed. He is surived by his widow and eight children. Mr. Rushing was a consistent member of the Primitive Baptist Church, holding membership at Eden. The remains were tenderly laid to rest in the cemetery at Good Hope."
