He is buried beside her. Charlie is the son of James Stephen Spradley and Julia Boone. The following was from a newspaper clipping given to me, Ron Bridges, by Gertrude P. Parnell via the mail on August 20, 1996. C. T. SPRADLEY PASSES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS Charles T. Spradley, 83, one of Pike County’s oldest and most influential citizens, died today (Friday) at 1:30 p.m., after a short illness. More than two decades ago Mr. Spradley was chosen by his fellow-citizens as Tax Assessor of Pike county and served the people with distinction. After retiring from public office he moved to his farm at Hepzibah where he lived for a long number of years until the Grim Reaper took his life’s companion. After that he alternately made his home with his daughter in Troy, Mrs. Cleve Youngblood and his daughter in Hartford, Mrs. Adolphus Chaney. Surviving are one son, Ray R. Spradley; two daughters, Mrs. Cleve Youngblood, of Troy; Mrs. Adolphus Chaney, of Hartford. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, and many other relatives. Funeral will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cleve Youngblood, with his pastor, Dr. Claude T. Ammerman, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery with McGehee Funeral Home in charge. On 24 May 2001 Stina Brogden Spradley, the wife of Rush Ray Spradley told me, Ron Bridges, via phone that she remember Charles Spradley driving around town in his Model T Ford. She said she could always tell when he was driving up. On 27 Mar 2003 I visited Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Pike Co., AL. I noticed a new stone laid down for John Frank Spradley. Dates: 1899 - 1900. I do not know whose enfant this was. However, I do known that Charles and Ida Lizzie lived near there at one time. Ida family lived near there also. Researched by Ron Bridges on 27 Mar 2003.
