Stonie Murdock Harrison WELCH b: 07 Jul 1898 Pike County, Alabama, d: 14 Feb 
1972 Alabama.  Son of William Thomas WELCH and Maggie Drucilla MILLS.  Married 
Clara Mae HENDERSON 11 Apr 1920 in Alabama.  Clara Mae HENDERSON was the 
daughter of James Samuel HENDERSON, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth CLARK.  Stonie and 
Clara had 8 children:
1.  Edwin Harrison WELCH (M) b: 28 Sep 1928 d: 30 Jan 1934.  Buried Bethel 
Cemetery.
2.  Thomas Ethridge WELCH (M) b: 1930 d: 1963. Married Theresa SEWELL and they 
had 2 sons.
3.  Kenneth Edwin Wayne WELCH (M) b: 02 Feb 1934. Married Shirley SMOTHERS and 
they had 3 boys and 1 girl.
4.  Kendrick Merrill WELCH (M) b: 29 Aug 1936. Married Mavis FLEMMING and they 
had 1 boy and 3 girls.
5.  Wisteria WELCH (F) b: 02 May 1921. Married Lester KEY, Sr. and they had 1 
son.
6.  Joy Wildred WELCH (F) b: 13 Dec 1932. Married Robert Lynnwood SMITH 21 Jan 
1950 and they had 3 boys and 3 girls.  
7.  Mary Sybil WELCH (F) b: 19 Jun 1925. Married Dewey Dan SPIVEY and they had 
4 boys and 1 girl.
8.  Kenneth Wayne WELCH (M) b: 02 Feb 1934. Married Shirley SMOTHERS and they 
had 3 boys and 1 girl.

1920 Census lists him as Sony H. Welch, this is a wrong.
