ALGenWeb File Manager - Lygia Dawkins Cutts ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Contributed by Larrie Spier Curry MAR 1999 Last will and tesement of John Speir Dec_d In the name of God,; Amen John speir of the Couty of Pike and State of Alabama and of Sound Mind and Memery and Calling to mind the uncertainty of life do make and ordain this my last Will and testament 1st I Gave my Body to the dust from Whence it was taken and my Sole to God Who Gave it. 2nd I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rebecca Speir the following lands lying in Pike County to wit - the East half of the South East quarter of Section twenty Nine in township ten of Range Twenty-One the North west quarter of the South East quarter of Section twenty Nine 10 R21 the South west quarter of the South East quarter of Section 29 township 10 Range 21 Know I gave my wife one Negr woman nemed Sitty with her increas for ever all so two two beads and two bead stids and the furniture be longing to them allso one third of the house hold and citchen furniture with the rest of my beds Exceped also one horse and four cows and calvs. One year support of the corn and meat with a reasonable potion of my Stock hogs for her to Rais from [p 2] 3rd I will and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Christain Kolb Dec_d the wife of James B. Kolb to the lawful heirs of her body I gave the heirs of Christain Kolb Six hundred dollars in lue of a Negro girl I in tended giving them by there cocent 4nd I have gave to by beloved Sun George W. Speir five hundred Dollars with the trust on hit which I cocider Equal to the amount that I hav gave Enny of the rest of my heirs and for which his heirs is to have now more until the Rest of my heirs are mad Equal 5th I will and bequeth to my beloved Son Hiram. K. Speir one negro man naimed John 6nd I will and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Miram wife of Dashee Shaw the following property viz My negro girl Betsy to have and to hold with her increas that she has had or may have 7nd I will and bequeath unto my beloved Son Haris Speir his heirs Eighth hundred Dollars 8nd I will and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Mahaly wife of Seaborn J. Whatley now Liddy Eight hundred Dollars 9nd I will and bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Elizabeth J. wife of Arther J. Faust my negro boy Washington 10nd I will and bequeath unto my beloved Son Abner B. Speir my negro boy Gib [p 3] 11nd I will and bequeath unto beloved Daughter Apsilla wife of William V. Duncan Eight hundred Dollars 12nd I will and bequeath unto my beloved Daughter Sarah wife of John. A. Speir, respect =fully sh___ to your Honor that they are the Executors of John Spier, late of said county dec_d That said Spier dec,d seized [?] & possessed in fee simple of these lands, lying & being in said county, to wit - the NW 1/4 & the S.W 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of section twenty two, & the E 1/2 of the N.E 1/4 of section twenty eight, all in Township Eight & Range nineteen, & subject to entry at Cahaba in said state that said Dec-d left as heirs to his said Estate Rebecca his Widdow who has been provided for by the will of said Dec-d, & Who has no interest in said lands - and the said Hiram K.
