Family sources say that The Boyd Family Cemetery is now covered by the backwater of the Little Tallapoosa. It was said to have possibly as many as 12 graves, one of which was Alexander Boyd, who wanted to be buried on his farm. Boyd, Robert Alexander b. 1811 d. bef. 1870 Boyd, Rufus b. 1850 died young [son of Robt. Alexander and Sarah Ann Hinton Boyd] Boyd slaves are possibly buried here. ****** Family Information: Robert Alexander Boyd born 1811, in possibly Abbeville County, South Carolina; married Sarah Ann Hinton b. 1814 SC; Robert Alexander died before 1870 in Randolph County; he is said to be buried in THE BOYD FAMILY CEMETERY; Sarah Ann Hinton-Boyd born 4/4/1814, died 3/29/1904 and is buried Piney Woods Cemetery, Randolph County, Alabama.
