Girardi & Linda Ayres & ==================================================================== March 2002 Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Township 20, Range 12, Section 29 Randolph County, Alabama From a survey done by Dianne Herron on June 17, 1989: "This cemetery is now in the woods and is very badly overgrown. I searched over a large area and the above are the only markers that I could find. We found the remains of three small wooden houses which had covered some graves. One of the houses had covered a single grave, while two of the houses had covered two graves each. I would estimate that there may have been about fifty unmarked graves in this cemetery at one time. We found markers for 22 graves, but there were other rock markers scattered over the area. We could not tell if these were used as headstones, footstones, or exactly how many graves would have been marked. Family members state that William Henry and Mary Benefield were buried in this cemetery, but family members moved their graves to the Wedowee Masonic Cemetery some time during the late 1970's."
