The delegates after 45-minute Intermission, convened in the house. Since the last session, the Lord has taken, by death, their Moderator from them, and they seemed as sheep having no Shepherd They were organized by calling Elder A. R. Almond to the chair, who opened the meeting singing, Prayer by Elder Beverly. The Moderator, preterm with some very appropriate remarks, announced the body duly organized, and ready for business. Read the letters and noted the state of the Churches. Thirty-nine were baptized, as the result of the year labors of 18 Churches and a membership of 1303 communicant. All heart seemed to say, "Is there not a cause". Then went into the choice of a Moderator, which elicited some excitement, as I feared, but afterwards found it to be not as to who should be Moderator, but to the abstract of the Assocation. The choice resulted in the election of Elder Daniel a Moderator, and the old clerk, Bro. John B. Word. On Sunday, Bro. Falkner preached the funeral of Elder Burton, the former Moderator. There seemed to be a lively interest manifested. Christians rejoiced and sinners were made to weep. I trust arrow were made fust in the heart of the king enemies. Monday morning took up the subject of the abstract of faith on which the Association was organized, it is having been rejected by the Western Association, thereby canting discontent in the Churches that came from the Western. Their delegate came instructed to withdraw, if the Association refused to adopt an abstract that was more uniform. After much debate, conducted, I think in good feelings, Elder Young Wood moved the adoption of the Tallassahatchie abstract which, through the interposition of the corresponding delegate, was adopted with but one dismissing vote, and that by the delegate of one of the Churches which came from the Tallassahatchie Association. All passed off harmoniously, and I trust to the furtherance of the Gospel. The subject of Missions elicited a lively interest, yet aa many know the inability of the Association, they will led truly gratified to learn they have made arrangement bf which they have put Bro. Young Wood into the field for the Assocation year, by which they will have the most if not all their destitution supplied by an efficient laborer. May the Lord crown his efforts with good to the churches and salvation to many precious souls! The brethren renewed their correspondence with all the Associations that had heretofore accepted of them, as the Western Georgia, Central Alabama, as well as appointed delegates to the Alabama Baptist State Convention preparatory to becoming a component part thereof. Knowing the disadvantage and difficulties under which the Arbacoocbee Association has labored and is still laboring, let me earnestly to solicit an interest in the prayers and beneficence of our brethren who, through a brethren and Kind Parent, are placed under a more favorable circumstance. We meet many familiar faces at the Arbrcoochee Association, it being that Preachers College in which we graduated, under the direction of the Domestic Mission broad of the Southern Baptist Biennial Convection and never can those different degrees we took in the Divine Spirit, either under the bush arbors, in the log meeting houses, or around the fire-side of the poor and needy, or on the bank of Tallapoosa river, or in the Jordan-like waters, be forgotten by us. We felt our heart swell with gratitude to look upon so many epistles of our graduating course, known and read of all who beheld them. And we wished for those days still to live on memory page. When the Asociacion said to Bro. Wood, go our whole heart was extended to him, and said, go, Bro. Wood, and may you realize less privation, less difficulty, and may your labor be crowned with far more success than ever was our happy lot to enjoy. R. M. J.
