New Home United Methodist Church was organized on May 30, 1892, by Rev. Chas S. Morrison. James F. Halpin deeded five acres to the Broad of Trustees of the New Home M.E. church on Aug 15, 1892. The church completed and dedicated by Rev. J.S. Freeman on Nov.30, 1893. In 1895 The Ministerial Association of the Anniston District, M. E. Church, convened at New Home Church, Randolph County, October 24th, Rev. Chas S. Morrison, pastor. In 1897 Rev. S.J. Ingram was the pastor. The first members were: Charles Boyd James Boyd Hoyt Boyd J.G. Craft M.A. Craft Wm M. Craft Mary Fowler Mrs. C.J. Halpin J.D. Kitchens Thomas Kitchens A Sunday school convention for beats 2 and 3 was held at New Home church July 30th, 1903 and was a profitable session. S. B. Gaston was president, G S Bailey yice president, J D Vowell secretary and J. W. Boyd assistant. Roanoke Leader: March-1932 Wedowee was fortunate in escaping the tornado do which swept over a large part of Alabama Monday evening, though the winds were sufficiently strong to cause many houses to quaver. Reports from the northern part of the county show that that section was in the path of the storm. New Home church and several dwelling houses in that vicinity were blown from their pillars, but no one is known to be injured. Lineville Headlight: Rev. Fred E. King, pastor of the New Home Church, Randolph County informs us that the comer stone of the new church building at that place will be laid Monday, July 25th, 1932, with appropriate ceremonies. District Supt. Wallace A. Murphree of Birmingham will be in charge of the ceremonies and President Conway Boatman of the John H. Snead Seminary, Boaz, Ala. will be the principial speaker. Bro. Sanders of Buckhannon, Ga. will render singing, dinner on the ground, refreshments sold. The public is invited. 1939 Home Improvement Club: New Home President, Mrs. Luther Boyd; vice-president, Mrs. Lucile Waters; secretary, Miss Grace Boggs; treasurer, Mrs. A. T. Lipham; reporter, Mrs. W. W. Wiggins; song leader, Mrs. Humphry Braden; board member, Mrs. J. L. Bassett; demonstration leader, Mrs. Gay Foster; asst. dem. leader, Mrs. J. L. Creed; poultry leader, Mrs. Hoyt Boyd; gardening leader, Mrs. Jim Sellers; farm bureau leader, Miss Bernice Boyd; scholarship chairman, Miss Fannie Craft; citizenship chairman, Miss Inez Waters; live-at-home chairman, Mrs. Idus Landers; recreational leader, Mrs. Archie Waters. The rock church has always been in its current location. The church is still one of the most beautiful churches in Randolph County. New Home School Randolph County Alabama Around 1900 New Home school was organized, the school consolidated with Mandy's Chapel and Union Hill schools which closed. The school was destroyed by fire in March of 1944, the three-teacher building not too far from the church was a total loss.
