OFFICERS ---------------------------- There was held in Wedowee last Saturday [16 October 1915], at the M. E. [Methodist Episcopal] church, an enthusiastic conference of the officers of the Randolph County Sunday School Association. Only three officers were absent, and these for real hindering causes. President GREGG presided and Mr. W. H. STEVENS acted as secretary. It was announced that two of the recently elected district presidents had resigned, in the first and fifth districts. Mr. William TRAYLOR, of Newell, was elected to the vacancy in the first district, and Mr. T. C. GOODWIN in the fifth district. A schedule was worked out for the holding of district conventions in the month of November as follows: First district at Herren’s Grove first Sunday; Second district at Corinth, in beat 2, second Sunday; Third district at New Hope, near Malone, third Sunday; Fourth district at White’s Chapel second Sunday; Fifth district at Roanoke third Sunday, 2:30 p.m.; Sixth district at Liberty Grove second Sunday. The conference was addressed morning and afternoon by Mrs. S. P. MOORE, of Birmingham, representing the state work. Mrs. MOORE is not only a practical and efficient worker in the Sunday school field, but is also one of the most pleasing and forceful talkers we have heard. The conference voted that all county officers should keep an account of postage expended in the work and present same to the treasurer for payment. It was decided that the next conference of workers should be held in Roanoke three months hence. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 20 October 1915, p.1]
