The minutes of this church still exist, something very rare in Randolph County. Providence has one of the oldest and largest cemeteries in Randolph County with over 1000 graves of which at least 350 graves are unmarked. Providence Church joined the Arbacoocbee Baptist Association around 1854. Isaac B. Daniel and his wife joined by letter in 1856. He was later ordained as a Deacon of the church. He was the church clerk for many years. He corresponded with the Arbacoocbee Baptist Association and also served as delegate for Providence Baptist church. The church has always been called Providence, but the church has been moved three times, the last its current location. The last church was built around 1900, the same church building has been remodeled over to the years. The Homecoming is the 4th Sunday in May. Some of the early members of the church were: James Brown Mary Brown Gaines Burden Mary Burden Betty Daniel Eli Daniel Milbry Daniel I.B. Traylor South Western Baptist: Sep-1856: On Friday Morning I left Big Springs church in Randolph County and was met by brother Young Wood their pastor and brother William C. Boon, come Friday evening and we continued with brother Wood until Thursday night following the result was 20 added to the church. We returned leaving brother Wood who remained with the church until Sunday evening. On Friday morning William C. Boon and myself left and went to a little church called Providence ten miles off still in Randolph County and where the friends had made great preparation for the meeting it having been a place of destitution. We were joined Saturday night by brother Burton of Carroll County Georgia and on Sunday night, brother Wood the pastor of the church. A more interesting meeting I have never witnessed. We continued until the following Sabbath, and many followed their Lord and Master down into the "liquid grave" The result was twenty-seven added to that little church many of whom had been Methodists. Usual questions asked the church by Elder Davis and answered by Brother Darden as a mouth for the church, Candidate examined by Brother Sears Ordaining prayer by Brother Robinson. Charge and presentation of Bible by same right hand first by Presbytery then by the Church while solemnity seemed to rest on the countenances of all present benediction by Brother Noles and adjourned.
