Homecoming is the 3rd Sunday in May. In 1867 Mary Ann Hughley-Moore donated the land for the cemetery. Her husband Francis M. Moore was the first person buried in the cemetery. This was a community cemetery was used by the many families that lived in the area. Some people believe there was a church called "Mt Gilead" that stood near the cemetery, but the church burned or was destroyed in another way at one time. This would have to have been in the early 1870's to the mid 1880's. No records have been found. Another source states the church was called Antioch and was located on the property of Wiley Bean and was later renamed and moved to the current location. In 1887 the church was organized by members of the Cofield, Fuller and Gregg families. Rev. David S. Gregg was the pastor at one time. The current church building was erected in 1895. From The Randolph Toiler Mar-1896: Bro. D. S. Gregg and A. G. Preston preached able discourses at new Liberty Church Sunday. Rev. Archibald G. Preston was the pastor for many years until 1912. Walter McMurray was the pastor from 1913 to 1917. While Rev. Walter McMurray was pastor of Liberty Church of Christ, he met and married Miss Eliza Thomaston in 1915. He also pastored Christiana a Baptist church and Mt. Zion a Primitive Baptist church. Early members of Liberty Church of Christ: Billie Barrow [William N.
