Ofelia Alabama Randolph County AL 1908 Rev. John W. Stephens Sr. was born April 1, 1838, departed this life March 12, 1908. He was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on August 11, 1888 at Hardy-Howell Lodge No 459 Delta Ala as demitted February 9, 1901. He placed his demit with Reuben Lodge No 581 during the year of 1907. He died in good standing and was buried with honors... [Note: John W. Stephens is buried at Christiana Randolph County AL] J.S. Hodnett, Chaplain Whereas on the 23rd day of February the Supreme Grand Master saw fit to call from Reuben Lodge No 581 A.F. & A.M. our beloved brother S.W. Maddox. Whereas we to feel so deeply the loss of the one we loved so well. Be it resolved that Reuben's Lodge has lost one of its most consecrated members and the country one of its best citizens and his family a kind and true husband and father. We hereby tender a heart felt sympathy to the bereaved family and commend to him who doeth all things as well and earnestly pray that he will keep, guide and shield them from all harm... J.W. There were more Masons than family & friends] 1911 On June 7, 1902, Reuben Lodge No: 581 A.F. and A.M. initiated Bro. L.P. Hodnett in mysteries of Masonry With the pleasure to himself and credit to the fraternity Brother Hodnett had filled all the stations in the lodge being Chaplin and the time of his death. One June 7, 1911, the Supreme Grand Master saw fit to call Bro Hodnett from his labors here below for refreshments above there to forever rest from his labors.... J.W. Taylor J.W.T. Hendon E.W. Hendon, F. Taylor, J.A. Taylor, W.H. Taylor, A.A. Taylor, J.L. McCollum, J.W. Traylor and T.M. McDaniel. 1913 Mr. B.J. Ingram was born Feb 11, 1890, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Sam Ingram. He was initiated in the mysteries on Jun 15, 1912, passed Sep 21, 1912. He was a faithful member of the lodge and it was seldom he ever missed a meeting. [Note: B.J. Ingram is buried at Christiana Randolph County AL] Whereas on Nov 29, 1915, the Supreme Grand Master of the universe saw fit to call from Reuben Lodge No 581 A.F. & A.M. our beloved brother Dr. M.D. Liles Who was born Nov 18, 1840, began to practice medicine on May-1868. Morrison born Mar 31, 1860; departed this life Aug 24, 1918 He was initiated into the Reuben Lodge on April 21, 1906 passed May 19, 1906, and raised to the sublime degree of M.M. June 16, 1906. He was elected to various offices he held until the beginning of his illness. Our mystic order has again been broken death having rapped our inner door, found entrance to our main altar and has taken for our membership the dear brother mentioned above.... W.S. Yates E.W.
