Norred Mexican/Confederate War Records
Preston B. Norred enlisted as a private in Cunningham's Company 1st Alabama 
Volunteers Mexican War. He was issued 160 acres of land in Calhoun County 
Arkanasa which he sold to Phillip War.

He enlisted Aug 24, 1862 Randolph County Alabama as 2nd Lt in Company I, 44th 
Alabama Infantr.
He is listed absent sick: 2nd Manassas, August 30, 1862; Sharpsburg Septenber 
17, 1862: Present Fredericksburg December 13, 1862,; Suffolk, Virginia May 3, 
1863; Killed Gettysburg July 2, 1863. Death claim filed Dec 10, 1863 by widow, 
Mary Ann Norred care of W. C. Price, Aborcoohee, Alabama. No des. list--
verified Jan 21, 1865.
