Gaston, who lives Route 1, Heflin in Randolph County, has two shirts that are over 30 years old made of old hickory shirting. These shirts were made for his grandfather who has been dead for 25 years. They were given to him this spring by his aunt, Mrs. Lena Lee, who made them for his grandfather. Mr. Gaston wears one of these shirts every day when working and I will say they are as strong as any new shirt on the market today. Mr. Gaston's father, S. B. Gaston is in his eighty-first year and has the same initials as his grandfather. Mrs. Gaston has a bookcase that belonged to her great grandfather, and although she does not have a record of the age, she said she was sure it is much over a hundred years old.
