Chief of Police White four patrolmen. Smith, Deason, Wardlow, Bryant and Major Olsmith composed a posse which raided a still on Camp McClellan reservation yesterday afternoon. The still, large copper one was found in operation with four man present. When the officers came upon the sense the alleged operators fled it was said Harry Kilgore and J. F. Boggs were shot in the back with bird shot. Dr. E L. Curlee attended to the wounds, of the two men and stated the possibly 75 shots struck Kilgore in the back and around the hip while six or eight hit Boggs. They were very slightly injured, according to Dr. Curlee. A. H. Cofield. V. O. Bennett, Kilgore and Boggs were arrested on the raid. Kilgore is an Anniston man, while the other three claim their home as Delta, Route 2. Ten or fifteen gallons of whiskey and about 500 gallons of mash was said to have been taken by the raiding officers. Chief White had been tipped off that a still was being operated on the reservation and he and Federal Officer Lynch went to the place where the still we reported to be yesterday morning. They returned to the city, got the other officers and made the raid. Additional Comments: Delta, Route 2.
