G. Fincher place one mile east of New Hope in this county last Friday, according to Coroner W. V. Cockrell. State officers have been called in to assist in investigating the case, he said. The coroner stated that apparently the baby had been dead between a month to six weeks. The body was discovered by W. J. Fincher while plowing in the edge of a cotton field near a chicken house. It was buried under about six inches of dirt and wrapped in a quilt ad some rags, according to Mr. Cockrell's report.
