Perhaps no one so well realizes the need of the name as the local newspaper writer, whose unwelcome duty it so often is to chronicle the death and interment of our citizens. The ladies have also set out shade trees along the walk fronting Cedarwood, and have secured concessions from Messrs. RAY and SCHUESSLER for the opening of a driveway around the east side of the grounds. This will prove quite a convenience. The Club and the citizens furnishing the land are to be commended for this good step. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 22 March 1911, p.1]
