Ashland Progress July 26, 1945
Below is the program for the Clay County Association meeting to be held with 
Center West Baptist church three miles west of Delta on the Lees bridge road on 
July 28th, beginning at 9:30 a. m.
Song service by Brother Dewey Hurst. 
Devotional by Rev. Lester R. Johnson. 
Welcome address by Brother S. J. Stephens. 
Response by Brother R. L. Pate. 
10:30 What is man's greatest duty? By Rev. W. L. Sprayberry and Rev. B. W. 
McDonald. 
11:00 Sermon by Rev Elmer Wheeles. 
2:00 Noon. Lunch hour. 1:00 p. m. Vacation Bible School Work. By Miss Viola 
Lovelady and Brother Z. R. East. 
1:40 Are our churches encouraging our present membership preachers as they 
should? By Rev. Monroe Hill, Brother Dave Johnson, and Brother Wiley Sprayberry. 
2:30 What can we do to have revived spirits in our churches by Brother Beady 
Hamlin and Rev. C. R. Harrington. 
3:00. Business. Adjourn. Rev. G. F. Daugherty, Chmn. Ex. Com.

May 25, 1985 Anniston Star:
...Congressman, a state representative, and a National Guard general will be 
guest speakers at Memorial Day services at Center West Baptist Church in Delta. 
Rep. Bill Nichols, State Rep. Richard Laird and Brig. Gen. Russell E. Summerlin 
will speak at 10:30 a.m. A flag raising ceremony and dedication of a new 
flagpole will be in honor of veterans buried in the church cemetery. A flag that 
has flown over the White House will be presented by Nichols. Dinner will be 
served following the service...
