Blount County News-Dispatch January 4, 1883
Willoughby Dabney who is charged with stealing a horse from his grandmother in 
Randolph County was arrested on Sunday night east of town and taken before Judge 
J. W. Moore. He waived an examination and in default of $1,000 bail, was 
committed to jail. He says that he has swapped horses six times since he left 
Cherokee county, and when arrested he had in his possession a small black mare, 
12 or 13 years old, sway-backed and bare footed with a white star in her face.
