ZOBEL LOSES HIS COAT ---------------------------- Mr. Emil ZOBEL, one of Roanoke’s many good citizens, was among those who attended services at the Baptist church last Sunday night [7 February 1915]. The weather being rather “nipping,” he wore his overcoat, but divested himself of it in the vestibule, where he deposited it, along with other coats left in the outer chamber of the sanctuary. When services were over Mr. ZOBEL was unable to find his coat or any other left in place of it. However, he doesn’t think any of the worshippers took his outer robe, but that some passing thief slipped in and got it. It is also his theory that the sneak was a Democrat, because Mr. ZOBEL declares he took the sorriest coat in the lot. Our Germanic neighbor is now braving the February blasts as best he may, while waiting and longing for the approach of spring.
