Anniston Star August 26, 1946
A heavy docket is to be tried at the Fall term of the Circuit Court of Randolph 
County which began Monday. Five first degree murder cases and two cases of 
criminal assault are to be tried. About 500 special jurors have been summoned 
for service. Seven cases of distilling are also on the docket, one case of 
manslaughter and one case of assault to murder, and a number of minor cases.  
J. C. Nunn. colored, charged with criminal assault on a white woman is set for 
today; also, the case of Frank Heflin, colored, charged with murder in the first 
degree. The case of McKinley Freeman white, charged with murder. In the first 
degree, is set for Wednesday. Also the cases of Henry Heath, charged with murder 
in the first degree, and Dan Robertson, colored. charged with, criminally 
assaulting a colored woman; are set for the same day. The cases of Allison Clark 
and Ridley Stephens both charged with murder in the first degree, are set for 
Thursday.
