Roanoke Leader April 1, 1936
Wedowee, March 31. Mr. George East and his three sons, Claude, Harrison and 
Grady, and a neighbor, Marvin McCollum, were all placed in jail here Sunday 
evening charged with being implicated in the killing of Everett Cofield, son of 
Mr. John Cofield, beat 13. Mr. George East has made bond, but the others are 
being held in jail with-bond. Mr. Kaylor Cofield, a brother of Everett, was 
severely injured, receiving serious cuts and bruises on the head, but it is 
thought that he will recover.
