Anniston Star August 15, 1940
Descendants of H. D. Landers will hold an annual reunion next year on the first 
Sunday in August at the old Landers homestead in Randolph County, it was decided 
at the 1940 gathering of the relatives. At the reunion a program including 
speeches was presented following a picnic lunch at noon. Among those attending 
were: D. W. Landers of Tampa, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. P. V. Landers and Miss Helen 
Pate Landers of Jacksonville, Miss Smith of Birmingham, Mr. and Mrs. Foster 
Landers and family of Bowdon, Ga, Mr. and Mrs. Gay Braden of Roanoke, Mr. and 
Mrs. Ed White of Wedowee, Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Braden and children of Delta, Mr. 
and Mrs. Gilbert Landers and family of Delta; Virgil Landers of Birmingham, Mr. 
and Mrs. E. G. Landers and family of Jacksonville, Miss Eva Stephens of Roanoke, 
Mrs. A. E. McCarley and Miss Mary Beth McCarley of Woodland, Mr. and Mrs. H. D. 
Landers and Billy McClendon II, of Anniston. Mrs. Vernon Sikes of Talladega, Mr. 
and Mrs. Grady Edwards of Newell, Mr. and Mrs. Landers McCarley and baby of Wood 
land, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Landers and Miss Geneva Landers of Newell, Landers 
Sewell of Henagar, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Lee of Wedowee, Dr. and Mrs. M. E. Poland, 
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Willingham of Anniston, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Thomas and Mrs.
