The assault occurred on the Tom Marion farm a few miles south of Wedowee and a Negro named Willie Battle, said to have been employed on that farm, is suspected of being the assailant. Officers had sought him without success at the time of latest reports reaching this office. Moulden had one side badly torn by a shotgun charge and was brought to a Roanoke hospital in a serious condition.
