Mr. and Mrs. T. M. McManus were honored recently by their children at an open 
house in celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary. The affair was held at the 
McManus home in the New Hope Community, Entertaining were Mrs. Mildred Traylor 
of LaGrange, Ga., F. S. McManus of Roanoke, Mrs. Sara McConnell of LaGrange, Joe 
F. McManus of Fairburne, Ga., Mrs. Helen Turner of LaGrange, Mrs. Tressie Greene 
of College Park. Ga., and Carey Y. McManus of Franklin, Ga. 14. Grandchildren 
Attend Present for the affair were Mr. and Mrs. McManus 14 grandchildren. They 
are Mrs. Herman Howard of Okinawa. Lt Sherrill McManus of Denver, Colo., Lt. 
Thomas McManus of Fort Benning, Ga., Lt Benny McManus of Lawton, Okla., Wilson 
Wright McManus, of Auburn, Gene McManus and Charlotte McManus of Roanoke, Paul 
and Jane O'Connell of LaGrange, Allen McManus of Fairburne, Ga., Linda Lipham of 
LaGrange, Chris and Mike Greene of College Park and Craig McManus of Franklin, 
Ga. Also attending were seven great grandchildren. They are Carol, Tom, and 
David Brent Howard of Okinawa, Larry, Gregory and Stevie McManus of Denver, 
Colo., and Jimmy McManus of Fort Benning, The Golden Wedding motif was carried 
out in the decorations and arrangement of gold leaves and gold, yellow and 
bronze flowers were used throughout the house. Paul McConnell, Chris Greene and 
Mike Greene served as ushers for the afternoon. Donnie Greene greeted the guests 
at the door and Allen McManus presided over the guest book. Others who assisted 
in serving were Jane O'Connell, Mrs. Wilson W. McManus, Claudia Greene, Linda 
Lipham and Charlotte McManus. The marriage vows were reaffirmed in a ceremony 
which was performed by the Rev. Bill Traylor. Mr. and Mrs. McManus attendants 
were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Grant of Wedowee, who had been members of their wedding 
party in 1909. Guests present for the occasion were L. C. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. 
Wilson W. McManus. Mr. and Mrs. F, S. McManus and children. Gene and Charlotte, 
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Kirby, Mrs. Gross Haynes and daughter, Sheila, Mr. and Mrs. 
Charlie Kirby and daughter Sandra, Mr. and Mrs. Olin Benefield, Mr. and Mrs. 
David Howell, Mr. and Mrs. Joe McManus, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Grant, Mr. and Mrs. 
B. F. Stone, Mr. and Mrs. John Bartlett, Mr. and Mrs. Cairo Cavender, Mr. and
