Andrews will leave in a few days to visit her children in West Point and Union Springs. __ Battle W. Mayfield arrived the latter part of last week from Texas to spend some time with his brother, W.S. Mayfield and other relatives here. __ Nixon Lucas called at our office last week. He was accompanied by his brother W.P. Lucas who came over from Mississippi to spend some weeks in Randolph county. __ Dr. Hooper reports that there are some mild cases of small pox between Stroud and Five Points. Will Whatley, a young business man of Five Points is said to have the disease. __ Dr. Wyatt Heflin has gone to Germany to take a special course in surgery. Before leaving for Europe he did a graceful thing by sending a very fine gold watch to his venerable father, Dr. W.L. Heflin in this place. The doctor is justly proud of his watch and of the son who presented it. ___ L.F. Birdsong and Miss Lula Heflin will be married today at the bride's home north of Wedowee. Mr. Birdsong lives near Roanoke and is an excellent young man. We congratulate him upon winning so pretty and charming a bride. __ H.H. Cauthen visited his old home in South Carolina last week. __ Mrs. W.C.
