Dr. Floyd of Roanoke, had gone to Graham to a Masonic meeting and was called to attend Mr. Johnson and from him we get the following account of the affray: Some weeks ago, Henry Camp, who lived near Bowdon, Georgia, married a daughter of Dock Johnson, against her parents wishes. Bad feeling existed over the affair. At the time of the tragedy, Camp and his bride were visiting the home of another married daughter of Johnson, two miles south of Graham. Johnson claims that he went to the house to effect a reconciliation but shortly after entering the room, Mr. Camp began firing on him, one ball ranging around Johnson's jaw. The wounded man emptied his pistol on his son- in-law and then left the house, followed by the latter, who fired two shots from the veranda into Johnson's body, and then fell dead from the wounds he had received.
