Poore was last Saturday licensed as a minister in the Missionary Baptist church at Union Hill. In later years she was married to John G. Gay. Sister Gay, as we believe, was a devout christian. Having accepted christ as her personal saviour, she united herself with the Missionary Baptist church at High Pine. She leaves a husband and eight children and a number of relatives and friends to mourn her death. She was laid to rest in High Pine cemetery to await the resurrection. She was a devoted wife, a kind and loving mother, a true and patient christian. Sleep on, sister, til god shall wake thee. Oh how we shall miss thee on earth, but oh, what a happy meeting on the other shore. "She has gone to yonder city to abide forevermore, to that land of fadeless beauty, she has reached a brighter shore. Earth has lost a precious jewel, god's own hand was in it all, in his wisdom it hath pleased him she was ready for his call. How it fills our heart with sadness, as we spoke the last good bye, but we soon shall meet in gladness where true pleasure never die. A friend, George H.
