Lewis, a good citizen of Wehadkee section, was shot and killed in Gadsden last Thursday night by Marx Smith. The deceased visited his father just a few days before his tragic end, boarding the train at Roanoke when he returned home on the Sunday before his death. It seems that Lewis married a sister of Smith but was not living with her. It is alleged that Smith had just been discharged from the Navy and that when he arrived home and learned of the situation, he went to where Lewis was sleeping with his little son, awoke and killed him. He then went to an all night restaurant, ate a hearty supper and then surrrendered himself to the sheriff. --- AGED CITIZEN DEAD We are informed of the death of Thursday night of one of the oldest citizens in Randolph County, Mr. Hard Johnson, who lived in Brockville beat.
