MITCHUM Almighty God in His infinite wisdom has seen fit to take from our midst our friend and brother, Abner J. Mitchum, who was a member of Black Gum Camp No. 764, W.O.W., at Langdale, Ala. This good man died as he lived and only a short time before he left us, gave the strongest assurance that he was ready. His death was a glorious triumph of the christian faith. We will miss him here but we shall find him in the Home of the Saints. He leaves a wife and three children, an aged father and mother and one brother. As a husband and father, he was loyal and true. As a member of the camp he was enthusiastic and earnest. He was one upon whom you could depend when duty called, therefore he lived a life of usefulness. We feel that the members of our Camp should do honor to his noble memory, therefore be it resolved; 1st; that Black Gum Camp has lost one of its most faithful members and the community a true citizen. 2nd; that we shall miss his pleasant smile and congenial companionship together with his words of encouragement and timely counsel. 3rd; that our sincere sympathy be tendered the bereaved family and that we may be able to help them bear their loss which they so keenly feel. 4th; that a copy of these resolutions be furnished the family, a copy be spread upon our minutes and a copy be sent the paper for publication.
