LOCAL News

On Sunday last, four popular young people were made happy in the marriage 
relation:

Mr. Willis Hinton and Miss Mary Swan

Mr. Ed Ware and Miss Alice Bolt

Another shocking tragedy occurred in our county last Sunday, on mile north of 
Omaha in which Joe Rogers was shot through the head and killed and Isaac 
Daniel was seriously if not fatally wounded and Aaron Fincher is in jail.  It 
seems that although Rogers had been involved in the difficulty previously, he 
was not a participant at the time he was killed, the shooting being between 
Fincher and Daniel, and Rogers being killed by a stray ball.  We are without 
full particulars.

Mrs. Holdridge is reported quite sick.

Col. J.W. Oliver has been a victim of la grip this week.

Mr. J.W. Young is just getting about, after about a two weeks illness.

Mr. Tom Owens has moved from Roanoke to Potash where he is operating a mill.

Mrs. L.C. Huckeba who has had a tedious illness is reported much better we are 
glad to note.

Mr. W.A. Dean has moved his family to Roanoke where they are occupying the 
Mrs. White place on Rock Mills street.

Mr. J.F. Lewis of Hendrick, ALa., is visiting relatives in this community.

Mr. W.S. Brown and family of Cambridge, visited relatives in this community
