Weather conditions caused the attendance to be small, nevertheless we had quite a pleasant session. In the election [of] officers Dr W G FLOYD succeeded himself as president, Dr P E DEAN was elected vice president, Dr J W HOOPER secretary and treasurer and also succeeded himself as censor, Dr P G TRENT, Jr, was also re-elected county health officer. Drs P E DEAN and J W HOOPER were elected delegates to the state medical association. I feel very grateful to the society for relieving me as its secretary and treasurer -- a position which I have held for a quarter of a century. Dr HOOPER is the right man for the place and I beg the membership to give him their earnest co-operation. P G TRENT, Sr Jan’y 27, 1903 [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 28 Jan 1903, p.3]
