We are pleased to say that the company now has a loyal membership of twelve, as follows: L C EARNEST, W E HESTER, J O MOON, T O WILLIAMS, C N TOMLIN, S F ABERNATHY, J D CARROLL, R O MOOTY, Wyatt POOL, Lon SHANKS, Tom COOK, John WINDOM. Mr. EARNEST is Chief, and we predict that he will make a good one. The “boys” should be given the encouragement and support of the town. They meet twice a month, and as soon as the weather and streets admit they will go out for an occasional practice. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 31 Jan 1906, p.3]
