M. D. Barnett. The fire originated in a defective flue. Those present were able to save all the furnishings in the building. There was no insurance. However, the plucky congregation will rebuild, and will have Sunday school rooms and basement. Sep 3, 1930: The Leader is pleased to note that the Paran church building has just been completed, though not painted. It replaces the one that burned some months ago. The membership and friends are to be congratulated on this good work, Protracted meeting is being held in the new edifice this week, conducted by Revs. M. D. Barnett and O. C. Fincher. Additional Comments: Paran Baptist Church was member of the Liberty East Baptist Assocation in 1860, with 29 members. In 1871 Paran was dismissed from the Liberty East Baptist Assocation and was admitted the Rock Mills Baptist Assocation. In 1900 Paran was one of the first churches to be admitted to the Randolph County Alabama Baptist Assocation. In 1901 Paran hosted the Randolph County Assocation Sunday March meeting.
