It is simply feeding poke root and poke salad to them once or twice a week. It is to be boiled and as a little "pusley" (or is it puslain?) may be thrown in. The hogs will eat it readily. A planter, having m large number of hogs in Randolph County, tried it, and all his swine escaped, while his neighbors lost large numbers of theirs. We have long since heard that poke root boiled was an excellent alterative for him. Additional Comments: Note: This first was run in the Columbus [GA] Enquire. It is unknown if the person was in Randolph County Alabama or Georgia. Note: Old people used to say: "If you eat a mess of Poke Salad in the Springtime, it will keep you healthy during the coming year".
